Jason Ritchie For Sammamish
CIty Council

About Me

My background

I'm Jason Ritchie and I'm running for the Sammamish City Council. The citizens of Sammamish want accountable and responsive leadership from their City Council and I want to help make that happen.

My top issues

  • Balancing residential and commercial growth and development while maintaining the unique character of neighborhoods.
  • Creating better infrastructure to support that growth, including working with regional partners on additional transportation options to get Sammamish families to work and to school.
  • Cherishing and protecting our environment.
  • Fiscal accountability and transparency that maintains a solvent City budget.

My involvement

  • I own a Sammamish-based small business dedicated to creating independence for people with physical challenges.
  • I've been married to my wife, Amy, for 19 years and have two sons in public school.
  • I am currently serving on the King County Civil Rights Commission, appointed by King County Councimember Kathy Lambert.
  • I've served on the Washington State Independent Living Council, appointed by Governor Jay Inslee.
  • I have degrees in History and Political Science from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in History from Eastern Michigan University.
